Start and End Date
Contest will end at the end of the NCAA tournament and the winner will be chosen based on the outcome of the scoring system. The winner will be selected and verified on April 9th and announced April 12th.
Important Dates for the 2012 NCAA Tournament:
March 17 (Sun): Selection Show on CBS at 6:00 p.m. ET, after which the picksheet opens.
March 19 & 20 (Tue & Wed): First Four, Play-in Games (Not included in pool)
March 21 (Thu) at 12:15 PM ET Your Pool’s Pick Deadline
March 21 & 22 (Thu & Fri): Second Round
March 23 & 24 (Sat & Sun): Third Round
March 28 & 29 (Thu & Fri): Sweet Sixteen
March 30 & 31 (Sat & Sun): Elite Eight
April 6 (Sat): Final Four
April 8 (Mon): Championship Game
April 12th, sweepstakes winner announced.
Grand Prize
The prize for the winner will be $250 in the form of a check mailed to the winner. We reserve the right to change the prize at any time without notice.
Eligibility
To be eligible to win, you must be 18 years or older and a US resident.
How to Enter to Win
To enter you must complete an online bracket in the Brackets for Babies Pool before March 15th. In order to gain access to the online Brackets for Babies system you may make a tax-deductible donation of $15 here and you will then be given instructions on how to access the bracket system. You may also access the bracket system without making a donation by emailing us here: [email protected] and asking for the instructions. The donation is not necessary, but it is encouraged as this is a charity fundraiser. No Purchase Necessary. Void where prohibited.
Limitations
Only one account in our system per person is allowed. One bracket per account will be allowed.
How to Win
The winner will be selected by the highest score following this scoring system:
Each correct prediction you make awards you the following points by round:
First Four: Play-in games are not included or scored
Second Round: 1 point
Third Round: 2 points
Sweet 16: 4 points
Elite 8: 8 points
Final Four: 16 points
Championship: 32 points
In the event of a tie, the first round scores will be added again to the final score. If the tie still exists, the second round scores will be added again to the final score. If the tie still exists, the winner will be chosen by a coin toss.
The odds of winning depend on how many people enter.
The winner must electronically sign an affidavit to prove eligibility and accept the award. If the person with the highest score does not meet eligibility requirements then the person with the next highest score will win.
We reserve the right to change the prize or the rules at any time. We also reserve the right to select the winner at our discretion. All decisions are final. We reserve the right to cancel the sweepstakes at our discretion. Donations are non-refundable.
Brackets for Babies is run by the non-profit organization Students for Life of Illinois, all proceeds go to help Students for Life of Illinois or other pro-life organizations to do their life saving work.
